Congress: Reinstate the Aviation Security Advisory Committee

Donald Trump is putting lives at risk by gutting aviation safety oversight at the worst possible time. Just days after his administration disbanded the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, two deadly plane crashes occurred—one in Washington, D.C., and another in Philadelphia. While these crashes may not be directly linked to Trump’s reckless decision, his pattern of slashing safety regulations and shrinking the FAA’s workforce will only make future disasters more likely.

Instead of taking responsibility for aviation safety, Trump is absurdly blaming Barack Obama and DEI policies for the D.C. plane crash—without offering a shred of evidence. This isn’t leadership. This is dangerous negligence.

Aviation safety should never be a partisan issue, yet Trump has prioritized dismantling key safety committees while the FAA remains leaderless. Experts have long warned that underfunding aviation oversight and gutting regulatory bodies would increase the risk of accidents. With lives on the line, we need serious leadership—not Trump’s baseless political scapegoating.

That’s why Congress must act immediately to reinstate the Aviation Security Advisory Committee and ensure the FAA has the resources and personnel it needs to protect passengers. Every day of inaction increases the risk of further aviation disasters.

Sign this petition to demand that Congress reinstate the Aviation Security Advisory Committee and hold Trump accountable for prioritizing politics over passenger safety. The American people deserve safe skies—not reckless deregulation.
