Expel Rep. Cory Mills Over Abuse and Ethics Allegations

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson says Congress must protect women on Capitol Hill — but when it comes to Republican Representative Cory Mills, he is looking the other way.

The House Ethics Committee released a rare public statement on May 11 calling allegations against Mills “serious and complex” and saying its investigative subcommittee is devoting significant resources to the case. Those allegations reportedly center on abusing women, sexual misconduct, stolen valor, financial misconduct, misuse of congressional resources or status, improper gifts, campaign finance violations, and false or incomplete disclosures.

The committee is also reviewing a police response to a reported assault involving Mills and a woman he was in a relationship with, as well as a restraining order filed by an ex-girlfriend.
