Extend Voter Registration Deadlines in Hurricane-Hit States

Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation in several states, including Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas, disrupting lives and making it difficult for residents to register to vote.

As recovery efforts continue, it’s critical that voters in these hurricane-hit areas are not disenfranchised.

A new lawsuit in Georgia is pushing for the state to extend voter registration deadlines due to the storm's impact. But Georgia isn’t the only state in need. Florida, where Hurricane Milton is now bearing down, should also extend its voter registration deadlines to ensure that every eligible voter has a fair chance to participate in the upcoming election.

Natural disasters should not stand in the way of democracy. Sign our petition to demand that state officials in all hurricane-affected regions, including Georgia and Florida, extend voter registration deadlines.
