Impeach Education Secretary Linda McMahon

Education Secretary Linda McMahon is trying to dismantle the Department of Education from the inside — and Congress must stop her.

Representative Suzanne Bonamici just introduced articles of impeachment against McMahon, accusing her of illegally shifting core Education Department functions to other federal agencies, making false statements to Congress, and betraying the public trust. The resolution says McMahon moved operations from six offices and more than 100 programs without congressional approval.

The Department of Education is required by federal law to protect students with disabilities, enforce civil rights laws, support low-income schools, oversee federal student aid, and help ensure public dollars reach the students Congress intended to help. Gutting that work puts children, families, educators, and borrowers at risk – and it's an impeachable offense.

Tell the U.S. House of Representatives: impeach Linda McMahon for abusing her office and illegally dismantling the Department of Education.

McMahon does not have the power to abolish a federal agency created by Congress. If a cabinet secretary can simply move congressionally mandated programs out of the department that Congress placed them in, then the law becomes optional for the powerful.

The stakes are enormous. Students with disabilities could face more confusion and delays. Families facing discrimination could lose access to timely civil rights enforcement. Schools already stretched thin could be forced to navigate a fractured, weakened system that makes accountability harder and support less reliable.

Congress created the Department of Education. Congress funds its programs. And Congress has the constitutional power to hold cabinet officials accountable when they defy the law and undermine the public they are sworn to serve.

Add your name now and demand the House impeach Education Secretary Linda McMahon before more damage is done.

The petition to the U.S. House of Representatives reads: "Impeach Education Secretary Linda McMahon for illegally dismantling the Department of Education, defying Congress, and betraying students, families, educators, and the public trust."
