Keep Carbon Pollution Limits on Power Plants

Trump’s EPA is moving to erase carbon pollution limits for coal- and gas-fired power plants — and if we don't stop it –  communities across the globe will pay the price.

Power plants are a major source of climate pollution. The standards now on the chopping block were projected to cut more than a billion tons of carbon pollution in the coming decades. Repealing them would hand fossil fuel polluters a green light to keep pumping dangerous pollution into the air.

That means more fuel on the fire of the climate crisis: deadlier heat, stronger storms, worse flooding, more wildfire smoke, and more destruction for families already living with the consequences.

Tell EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin: Keep carbon pollution limits on power plants and stop this dangerous rollback.

This shortsighted EPA proposal would shift the burden from polluters to the public. Children, seniors, people with disabilities, outdoor workers, low-income communities, and people living near fossil fuel infrastructure are the ones most likely to suffer first and worst when pollution rises and climate disasters intensify.

The EPA’s job is to protect public health and welfare — not to make it easier for coal and gas plants to pollute. If this repeal moves forward, it would weaken one of the federal government’s key tools for cutting climate pollution from the power sector.
