Strike Down Trump’s Attacks on the Constitution

On his very first day back in office, President Trump issued an executive order attacking birthright citizenship in a flagrant violation of the 14th Amendment. It immediately prompted furious legal backlash from immigrant activist groups and the ACLU.

“Denying citizenship to U.S.-born children is not only unconstitutional — it’s also a reckless and ruthless repudiation of American values. Birthright citizenship is part of what makes the United States the strong and dynamic nation that it is. This order seeks to repeat one of the gravest errors in American history, by creating a permanent subclass of people born in the U.S. who are denied full rights as Americans. We will not let this attack on newborns and future generations of Americans go unchallenged. The Trump administration’s overreach is so egregious that we are confident we will ultimately prevail,” said Anthony D. Romero, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union.

Tell the Supreme Court to strike down Trump’s attack on the 14th Amendment!

This legal battle is almost certain to make it to the Supreme Court — and it certainly won’t be the last. The Supreme Court must send the Trump administration a message and strike down this unconstitutional attack, making it clear that the Supreme Court will not be a rubber stamp for Trump’s radical agenda.

SCOTUS swore an oath to uphold the Constitution. It’s time for them to show that they really meant it — and if they won’t, they need to be replaced with judges who will actually do their jobs.
