The Trump administration is preparing to open 80,000 acres of public land near Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument and Grand Canyon National Park to oil and gas drilling. These lands are home to endangered California condors, bobcats, mountain lions, rattlesnakes, porcupines, wild turkeys, and other wildlife. Drilling could destroy fragile habitat, threaten nearby water sources, and worsen the climate crisis. We can't let the Trump administration hand public lands near the Grand Canyon over to fossil fuel companies. Tell Congress to stop Trump's plan to drill near one of America's most iconic landscapes. Geophysicists have raised serious doubts that the area even contains usable oil. Decades ago, companies drilled wells in the region looking for oil — and came up empty. That means Trump could be putting fragile public lands, wildlife, and water at risk for a drilling scheme that may not even produce anything. Congress must step in. Add your name and tell lawmakers to protect public lands near the Grand Canyon from Trump’s reckless fossil fuel giveaway. The petition to Congress reads: "Block oil and gas drilling on public lands near Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument and Grand Canyon National Park. Protect wildlife, water, fragile desert habitat, and our climate from Trump's reckless fossil fuel giveaway."
