Elon Musk has crossed a line — again. In a series of recent posts, Musk called Senator Mark Kelly, a retired U.S. Navy captain and combat veteran, a “traitor.” He has since doubled down on the attack, even as fellow veterans and lawmakers express outrage. Mark Kelly flew 39 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm and later served as a NASA astronaut before being elected to the U.S. Senate. He has served with honor and distinction — and he deserves respect, regardless of political disagreement. Musk’s smear campaign is dangerous, disrespectful, and disgraceful. Veterans are not traitors for having different views. They are patriots who have sacrificed for our democracy — and they deserve to be treated that way. We can’t let the world’s richest man use his platform to vilify veterans and normalize this kind of hateful rhetoric. If Musk truly values free speech and civil discourse, he should start by showing basic decency to the people who have defended those rights. Add your name to demand that Elon Musk stop insulting military veterans and apologize to Senator Mark Kelly.
