Elon Musk is weaponizing AI to spy on federal employees.

His shadow agency, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), is deploying AI tools like his own, Grok, to scan emails, chats, and even private conversations of workers at the EPA and beyond. Their “crime”? Expressing criticism of Musk or Trump.

DOGE staff are recording meetings without consent, reading private messages, and dodging transparency laws by using encrypted apps like Signal. These are the acts you’d expect from a dystopian surveillance state run by tech billionaires—and they’re being carried out with zero accountability.

DOGE operatives—many with ties to Musk’s companies—have embedded themselves in over 20 federal agencies, flagging workers who don’t toe the line. Employees report being intimidated, silenced, and treated like enemies of the state.

Even after a court briefly paused DOGE’s data access, that ruling was overturned. Musk’s spies are back in action—and no one in government is safe from their reach.

Federal workers took an oath to serve the public, not a private billionaire. If we allow Musk to turn our civil service into a surveillance lab, we lose the very democracy those workers defend.
