Tell Jeff Bezos: Stop Praising Trump

Jeff Bezos just praised Donald Trump as “a more mature, more disciplined version of himself than he was in his first term.” Then he went even further: “Trump has lots of good ideas, and he has done a lot,” Bezos said. “He’s been right about a lot of things, and you have to give him credit where credit is due.”

Bezos also claimed he works with Trump because he is "on the side of America." But praising and supporting a president who constantly undermines the Constitution, attacks the rule of law, threatens political opponents, and treats public power like a personal weapon is wholly incompatible with being on the side of America.

America needs business leaders who hold strong convictions and stand by them — not sycophants trying to curry favor with whoever happens to be in power at any given moment.

Tell Jeff Bezos: Stop praising Donald Trump and stop normalizing attacks on democracy.

Bezos controls vast economic power through Amazon, Blue Origin, and The Washington Post. When someone with that much influence publicly flatters Trump, it gives cover to a movement built on corruption, intimidation, and constitutional abuse.

This is especially dangerous at a moment when Trump is testing every limit of democratic accountability. Powerful business leaders should be defending the rule of law, protecting democratic institutions, and speaking clearly against authoritarianism — not polishing Trump’s image for access or advantage.

Being on the side of America means standing up for democracy even when it is inconvenient. It means refusing to trade principle for proximity to power.

Add your name now and tell Jeff Bezos: America needs principled leadership, not billionaire bootlicking.

The petition to Jeff Bezos reads:

"Stop praising Donald Trump. If you are truly on the side of America, then defend the Constitution, the rule of law, and democratic institutions instead of flattering a president who undermines them."
