Tell the Supreme Court: Protect Medication Abortion Access

A federal appeals court just moved to restrict access to a key abortion pill—and now an emergency appeal is before the U.S. Supreme Court.

The 5th Circuit’s decision would roll back access to mifepristone, a safe, FDA-approved medication used in more than half of all abortions in the United States.

In response, the drug’s manufacturer has asked the Supreme Court to step in immediately to restore access, including the ability to prescribe the medication via telehealth and send it by mail.

What happens next could determine whether millions of people can still access this critical form of care. Tell the U.S. Supreme Court: Restore full access to mifepristone and protect medication abortion nationwide.

If the Court allows these restrictions to take effect, patients across the country will face new and severe barriers. Telehealth options could disappear. Mail delivery could be cut off. People in rural areas or states with strict abortion bans would be hit the hardest—forced to travel long distances, delay care, or go without it entirely.

Medication abortion has been safely used for decades and is backed by overwhelming medical evidence. The FDA’s approval process is based on science and rigorous review. Undermining that process through the courts threatens not just abortion access, but the integrity of drug regulation itself.

Public pressure matters right now. The Supreme Court’s legitimacy depends on public trust. And when decisions have consequences this far-reaching, speaking out helps shape how those decisions are made and understood.

Add your name now to demand the Supreme Court act quickly to restore access and protect patients.

The petition to the U.S. Supreme Court reads: “Grant emergency relief to restore full access to mifepristone, protect telehealth and mail distribution of medication abortion, and uphold the FDA’s authority to ensure patients nationwide can access safe, evidence-based care.”
